Registering Your Drone with the FAA

Lets walk through the step by step process of registering the sUAS with the FAA. I will do screen share and show you how easy it is. The fee is only $5.00 and it is required even if you are only going to fly for fun.

There are companies out there that will pop up on a search for drone registration that are not the FAA. They will host the registration for you and add another $20.00 onto the $5.00 FAA fee. The process is so simple with the FAA, there is no reason to use a 3rd party website. The same information will need to be input, whether you use the FAA registry or get stuck on one of the third party sites.

The registration will need to be displayed on the drone in an area that is visible with out the use of tools. The Faa site even suggests that you can put the registration number inside the battery box. With the Typhoon H, we decided to put it right on top with our label maker.
The registration is good for 3 years and they send you back an email receipt with a download file that is your registration. Print the registration and keep it.

If you plan to use the sUAS for any commercial operations (why not?) then be sure and get the required FAA rating of "remote pilot". The rating is easy to obtain with our help and we show you how  at www.rp107.com
